County agencies continue discussing security plans
County agencies continue discussing security plans
Security continues to be a top priority for the agencies that occupy the county-owned building complex on the south edge of Pontiac. Officials from I.H.R., The Livingston County Public Health Department and the county’s Mental Health Agency met with public safety representatives Tuesday afternoon. The agencies are working on a plan in case of an emergency. IHR’s Bob Kinas says work is still underway on the plans for a lockdown system.
Another part of the emergency plan includes numbering every room in the complex with numbers on the inside and outside for easy identification. Livingston County Chief Deputy Sheriff Ken White, Pontiac Police Chief Dale Newsome and Pontiac Fire Chief John Cummins were also at Tuesday's meeting.
The Livingston County Board will have the final say on the emergency plans.
