Group expresses concerns about PTHS athletics

The Pontiac Township High School athletic department came under fire from some members of the public Monday night. Over 20 people attended the District 90 School Board meeting, expressing displeasure with coaching conduct. Lisa Watson has a son who’s currently a PTHS athlete. She’s urging the school to adopt a code of conduct for its coaches. CLICK FOR SOUND PTHS graduate Lisa Martin told the board that she’s saddened and concerned about the lack of school spirit and pride. CLICK FOR SOUND Parent David Babb also addressed the board, saying students should not be “belittled” and given sarcastic remarks. After a lengthy executive session, District 90 Board President Robbie Rich said the board is also concerned about a quality athletic program being provided to the students.
